Description

Hello and Happy New Year!

I went out last night to image the Rosette Nebula, but realized it was too big for my FOV. I thought I could capture the entire nebula, but could only get a piece of it. So, I turned my scope on M42. This is the third time I've imaged Orion, but the first time I did so using dithering and adding dark flats. I did absolutely no light pollution or space noise removal in post processing. This image is almost noise free, just from the two added steps I just mentioned.

My equipment:

Orion 8" f3.9 Newtonian

QHY294C imaging camera

Orion 60mm guide scope with ZWO120mini guide camera

CGX mount

193 x 45 second lights

15 darks

20 flats

20 dark flats

I hope you like it!

Scott
